Maureen Gelchion Bio
Maureen has owned Astoria Dance Centre Inc. for the past 33 years. She is the owner of A Dancer’s Closet one of Queen’s only authorized Capezio retail stores. She has been a dance educator for 40 years. Her school offers has a full curriculum of dance styles, as well as an Acting, Music and Voice program. Maureen oversees a faculty and staff of 13 and co-directors the school with her husband, Tony Corso.
Maureen is a member of the Dance Educators of America, the Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey and the NDEO National Dance Education Organization. She is an advocate and Regional Director of National Dance Week. In her spare time Maureen enjoys adjudicating dance competitions and continuing her lifelong dance education. She is currently on the faculty and staff of the DanceLife Teacher Conferences. Maureen is very excited to be on the Board of Advisors of the newly formed I.D.E.A., a ground breaking business organization for school owners founded by Rhee Gold.
