Jessica Michael’s grew up in Newtown, CT and went on to a professional dance career in 1989 that spanned 10 years taking her from NYC to Tokyo, London and Los Angeles. Favorite performances include Broadway/ City Center Encores Series “One Touch of Venus”, North Carolina Theatre’s “Jesus Christ Superstar”, industrials for Sony and Champion Sportswear, TV and video appearances for Aretha Franklin and MC Hammer as well as a featured dance role in the film, “The Setting Sun” with Diane Lane. Upon retiring from performing, Jessica owned a dance studio in Jupiter, FL and also became a dance industry entrepreneur when she founded JAM cosmetics in 2007, a healthier stage makeup line for dancers.
After 18 years as a dance instructor, Jessica still finds immense joy and inner fulfillment teaching and choreographing for the next generation of performing artists. Passionate about training these young human beings to also be empathetic, courageous, inclusive leaders, she became instantly enamored with the Wingman project after attending a program kick off at a Connecticut middle school in September 2015.
Jessica joined the Wingman team as Global Program Director and adapted and launched Wingman for Dance in May 2016. She is excited and honored that in just two years the program has attracted over 60 studios in the US, Canada and Australia. Jess looks forward to every child being inspired to become a Wingman!
